We are pleased to announce the publication of Dr Stephen Vantassel's new book, Dominion Over Wildlife? An Environmental Theology of Human Wildlife Relations. This is the first book by Dr Vantassel, Dean of Students at King's, in a field which is growing in importance within Christian theology.

This thorough piece of research was the basis of his doctoral thesis, and we congratulate him for his efforts and hard work.

Next British Museum Trip (January 2009)

The next tour of the British Museum will take place on Saturday 24th January 2009, led by King's Evangelical Divinity School lecturer Julian Spriggs. We would like to encourage all students and friends of the college to consider joining this exciting tour. Please think about bringing a group from your church. The tour will be of interest to anyone who wants to understand the history of the Old Testament better. Scroll down for some photos from the museum.

In the U.K. we are very privileged to have easy access to this amazing collection of archaeological artifacts, many of which have a direct connection to important people or events of the Old Testament. Seeing and learning about these artifacts helps us see that the Bible really is rooted in history. Our faith is strengthened as we see that God acted in history, and that the archaeological evidence consistently supports the accounts recorded in the Bible.

But we've just updated the blog site with a new, fresh look and additional features (including an events calendar). View it at http://collegeblog.midbible.ac.uk, or click the button on top of this page, which takes you directly to the site. Blogging provides tutors and other contributors with a means to comment on news stories as they happen, as well as communicate information of interest to both college students and lay Christians on a regular basis. We hope you enjoy it.

Change of College Name

The college is changing name, with immediate effect, to King’s Evangelical Divinity School. This change is now reflected on our websites and logo.

This is for two reasons. First, our scholarly programmes and new postgraduate courses require it. The phrase “Bible College” often refers to practical, unaccredited institutions and is misleading to many enquirers seeking accredited biblical studies. Changing to Midlands Bible College and Divinity School partially resolved the issue, but this was a transitional measure ensuring some continuity with the new brand.
