Last month, Midlands Bible College and Divinity School tutor Andy Cheung, who is currently working on a PhD at the University of Birmingham on Bible translation, published some brief thoughts on the Holman Christian Standard Bible. The General Editor of the HCSB, Dr Edwin Blum, came across the comments and contacted Andy Cheung. Dr Blum very kindly agreed to be interviewed by Andy Cheung on behalf of the college concerning the HCSB, which can be found below. As well as currently engaging in research exploring Christianity in and theological responses to modern Israel, King's Evangelical Divinity School (formerly Midlands Bible College and Divinity School) Principal Dr Calvin L. Smith is also presently researching Protestantism in Fidel Castro's Cuba to accompany his monograph on Protestantism in revolutionary Nicaragua, which was published by Brill Academic (Leiden and Boston) as part of their Religion in the Americas series in 2007. Calvin has just been offered a second book contract, also with Brill, for his Cuba research. It will likewise be published as part of Brill's Religion in the Americas series, and the manuscript will be delivered to the publisher in July 2009 with a publication date for later that year. |

We’ve just launched several a new forum feature on the King's Evangelical Divinity School (formerly Midlands Bible College) eCampus, greatly adding to the school's interactive distance learning programmes. Log in and have a look. In time, as the two new categories are exploited by students, various new forums will be added. For now, play around with the new forums and make yourself aware of their features. See this new feature as a valuable resource to interact with the King's community (both staff and fellow students) concerning a whole range of issues, including asking and discussing theological questions, posting information on resources, sharing news, socialising and forging friendships, asking fellow students about course-related issues, and so on. The software permits you to edit your profile, change how the forum looks on your screen, upload an image (avatar), set up messaging when new posts are added etc. |
