All-Day King's Seminar on 18 October - Various Speakers PDF Print E-mail

King's Evangelical Divinity School (formerly Midlands Bible College and Divinity School) will be holding all-day seminar in Reading, Berkshire, on Saturday 18 Oct 2008 entitled The Jews, Modern Israel and the New Supercessionism: Resources for Christians. Speakers are Dr Calvin Smith, Dr Stephen Vantassel, Revd Jacob Prasch, Tony Pearce and Dr Paul Wilkinson.

This all-day seminar will provide Christians broadly supportive of the view that God has not finished with the Jewish people with a series of resources aimed at challenging anti-Israel theology and the recent wave of supercessionism to hit the Evangelical Church. The programme will consist of a short introduction and five papers examining Israel and the Middle-East conflict from theological, hermeneutical, historical and political perspectives by Bible college lecturers and experts with published work on the subject. Each session culminates with an opportunity for delegates to raise questions. We also envisage adding further papers (several have been commissioned already) with a view to negotiating a conference volume with a publisher at some stage, providing lay Christians with a package of resources pitched between the popular and academic levels. So don’t miss this opportunity to be present in person at this biblically and theologically challenging event, with plenty of opportunity for delegates to participate. There will also be exhibits and tables with a wide array of teaching materials, books and literature on sale.

Although primarily for MBCDS students, all are welcome. However, spaces are limited and on a first-come first-serve basis only.
