College Blog - Students Can Now Contribute PDF Print E-mail

The College Blog is now up and running with new articles and comment added regularly. Be sure to visit the blog (see link, main menu) to view the various articles. The College Blog focuses mainly (though not exclusively) on an analysis of social and political issues from a Christian perspective.

As well as posting articles from faculty members, we would like to encourage Midlands Bible College students to contribute thoughtful, objective responses to the faculty articles and comments. These student contributions will appear on the College Blog for visitors to read. Here is a great way to get involved in debating the issues raised by faculty members.

We have now set up the College Blog so that students can register as contributors (anyone who is not a Midlands Bible College student will not be authorised to post comments). To do this, click on "Register", under "User Interface". The software we use for the College Blog is called Wordpress. Take the time to play around with it before submitting your first comment.

Please note that all comments will be moderated by the college before they are posted on the site. To help ensure your comments are moderated successfully and appear on the site, please note the following: -

1. Keep your comments and posts short. Each contribution should not exceed two normal-sized paragraphs.
2. Make sure you stick to the issue you are commenting on. Don't post a comment in response to a faculty member's article, then dwell at length on other unrelated material. Remain focused on the issue at hand.
3. We are especially keen to see objective, thoughtful and mature comments. Don't rant, present your material sensationally, or exaggerate. We are keen for visitors to see mature and objective debates that move far beyond simplistic statements. Depth and objectivity are key here.
4. Do not use your post to advertise a particular site, service or ministry.

No doubt as we progress it will be necessary to add one or two further rules. but we will leave it at that for the time being.

We hope you will take the time to make worthwhile contributions that will heighten the quality of the debates initiated by faculty members, as well as offer a valuable resource for visitors to the college website. The College Blog also represents a great source of advertising for the college and its ministry.
