Dr Mercaldo is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Gateway Cathedral (New York), a non-denominational church with some four thousand members that  has been the focus of various high-profile church growth consultations and studies.

Dr Mercaldo is a member of the National Association of Evangelicals Executive. He speaks widely, both in the US and throughout the world, and is a visiting lecturer at the Midlands Bible College, where he focuses on marriage and family issues.
