New Christian Music Album Now Available PDF Print E-mail

Come to the Lord, a local, limited release CD of original Christian music written and performed by Chris Lazenby, was released on June 26th 2007. Several of the songs have been composed especially for the album, which is being sold to raise funds for the work and ministry of the Midlands Bible College. All the words and music, with the exception of the words of the Lord's Prayer and Agnus Dei, are original, written and performed by Chris. The CD contains 14 tracks (running time 52 mins) and costs GBP 8.99, which includes postage and packing.

Chris Lazenby has worked as a professional in the music industry for many years, and, for the last twenty years, mainly in the area of recording (although he is organist and choirmaster of his local parish church in Silsden, W.Yorks). The CD is available either directly from Class Music at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or from the Midlands Bible College (see College Shop, right, under "Audio CDs").

Please consider buying a copy of this excellent Christian album. Not only will you be blessed by the music and words, but you will also be helping the college's ministry. Our deepest and sincere thanks to Chris Lazenby for composing and compiling this wonderful Christian album.

STOP PRESS

Several of the songs on this album were entered into the UK Songwriting Contest, which is co-sponsored by The Brits and the World Music Foundation. Chris' songs reached the finals, but one of them, "For You and Me", won the Christian/Faith category. Full details can be found at http://www.songwritingcontest.co.uk/ (then click on 2007 Results and enter Chris Lazenby's surname). Of course, we are very excited that something which began as a college fundraiser ended up winning a major music competition.

About Chris

Chris has worked in many musical areas during his career, from being part of a well-known chart group in the late 60s, working as a musical director for Butlins Holidays during the ‘70s and touring the cabaret circuit and doing recording session work from the late 1970s. He worked all over the UK in many of the major venues and with some of the big name artistes of the past three decades. After moving into recording and session work Chris started his own music company and project recording studio (Class Music) in 1979. In the early ‘80s he also lectured in music technology for Keighley Technical College.

In 1983, Chris had a life-changing conversion and since then, has spent a good part of his time using his musical talents for the service of God’s Kingdom. From 1992, Chris began theological studies, earning a BA degree and Cert HE in biblical studies and theology respectively. He was ordained in 1997. Chris still works in music recording but now also spends some of his time working for MBC as a tutor and is a college executive council member. Much time is also taken with duties as organist and choirmaster at St James Parish Church, Silsden. He is also currently contracted as a composer of music to the major Australian/US publisher, Bell-Hughes Music Group (bellhughesmusic.com).

Chris is 59 and has been married to Pam (a midwifery sister) for almost 36 years.  They have three grown up children and three small grandchildren and live on the edge of Silsden, a small, rural town, just below the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
